What is the difference between softshell & hard shell harnesses?Updated a year ago

The main difference between softshell and hard shell harnesses lies in their construction and the level of support they provide:

Softshell harnesses: These harnesses are typically made with softer, more flexible materials like neoprene or foam. They offer a looser, more forgiving fit and are often preferred by beginners or riders who prioritize comfort and freedom of movement over maximum support.

Hard shell harnesses: In contrast, ION hard shell harnesses feature a rigid shell made from Curv material. They provide a stiffer, more supportive structure that offers better stability and control, particularly in high-performance riding situations such as freestyle or wave riding. Hard shell harnesses are favored by experienced riders who require precise power transmission and back support.

Ultimately, the choice between softshell and hard shell harnesses depends on the rider's riding style, preferences, and comfort level.
