How do I find the right harness size?Updated a year ago

Getting the right size for your harness is crucial for comfort and performance on the water. Here's how to do it:

Measure up: Grab a flexible tape measure and wrap it around your waist where you'll be wearing the harness. Most harnesses go by this, but ION's got an additional feature called the Ergo_Concept on all hardshell and hybrid shell models. Hybrid shell models always feature a high outline for maximum back support. They also come with an interchangeable lumbar pad to suit your spine's shape – you can choose between thicker or flatter, depending on your preference. On our hardshell harnesses you'll also want to measure your back length in addition to your waist size for the right profile shape. Depending on the length of your back you can get Tall versions in addition to all our regular sizes. In case you prefer riding your harness very tight, we recomend choosing the smaller size, especially if you are on the lower end of the measurements in one size.

Try it on: Once you've determined your size, try on the harness. Make sure it fits snugly around your waist without feeling too tight or too loose.

Adjust the straps: Most harnesses come with adjustable straps for a customized fit. Adjust the straps until the harness stays securely in place while allowing freedom of movement.

Test it out: Once you've adjusted the harness, simulate the movements you'll be making while windsurfing or kitesurfing to ensure it stays in place and feels comfortable.

Remember, finding the right harness size might require trying on a few different sizes and styles to find the perfect fit for your body shape and riding preferences
